The 2017-18 season is going well, with stronger string sections as a result of the growth of membership in recent years.
The planned repertoire was rapidly played through in September. Structured rehearsals led through the autumn to much enjoyable music-making, culminating in a December performance for friends of Dvorak’s ‘New World’ symphony, with its exciting fusion of American musical idioms refracted through the prism of the composer’s Czechoslovak cultural and musical roots.
The spring programme returns to the wider range of this year’s repertoire.
